SUMMARY:
The Minister of Music is responsible to Riverchase Baptist Church, under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, for the weekly and seasonal planning and execution of the worship service and overall music ministry of RBC, consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategies of Riverchase Baptist Church. The Worship Pastor provides direct supervision to the Worship Ministry Assistant and Accompanist. At its core, the Minister of Music should lead the members of the worship team, choir, and the congregation of RBC to Glorify God and Make Disciples through the ministry of music.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
•Provide primary worship leadership in the weekly worship services
•Oversee the production of weekly and seasonal worship services, including the volunteer audio/visual staff
•Develop a process to regularly identify and deploy new volunteers in music ministry of RBC
•Work with the Senior Pastor to ensure that relevant music and worship undergird the preaching and teaching ministries of the church through doctrinal soundness
•Maintain music ministry physical spaces ( e.g. classrooms, welcome areas, storage spaces, instruments, and other equipment).
•Maintain music ministry digital spaces (e.g. Planning Center, ProPresenter)
•Develop an annual music ministry budget and work within that budget
•Attend staff meetings and retreats as required.
•Support the Office of the Senior Pastor as requested.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
QUALIFICATIONS:
•A personal sense of calling from God to Christian ministry in general and specifically to Music Ministry
•Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Riverchase Baptist Church.
•A maturing Christian who demonstrates the Fruits of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer and sabbath.
•The proven ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
•The proven ability to think strategically and creatively work with approved ministry models and paradigms.
•Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Demonstrates strong vocal and instrumental skills
•Proficiency in reading music
•Knowledge of Christian music across styles and generations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•3 years removed from High School
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred
•Ability to pass church approved background check
Ministry Assistant
Full-Time
Department: Ministry Support Staff

SUMMARY:
The Ministry Assistant is responsible to Riverchase Baptist Church, under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, for providing administrative and clerical support to the ministers and members of RBC. The Ministry Assistant will perform all appropriate duties to support the ministerial staff in seeing that the programs of the church are executed efficiently and with excellence.
The Ministry Assistant may be asked to perform specific duties by church members as it relates to church business. She/He should seek to fulfill those requests with efficiency and attention to detail, while also being able to prioritize regular tasks and occasional requests.
The Ministry Assistant will manage the secretarial and administrative needs of the Senior Pastor and other staff members as necessary. In addition, the Ministry Assistant is responsible for the regular publications of the church, all other church communications, advertisements, maintaining the church calendar, managing facility use, managing office and janitorial inventories, maintaining vendor contracts as well as the church membership database. At its core, the Ministry Assistant should support the ministerial staff and members of RBC to Glorify God and Make Disciples through the ministry and programs of the church.

•Serve as receptionist to RBC’s members, guests, and vendors including but not limited to answering general emails and phone calls received by RBC
•Create, edit, and distribute weekly and special publications and promotions
•Understand church messaging and how it can be communicated most effectively
•Maintain church membership database
•Maintain files, digital and print
•Coordinate facility use for members and outside groups
•Keep inventory of janitorial supplies
•Serve as liaison to vendors
•Maintain physical spaces (classrooms, welcome areas, storage spaces)
•Maintain digital spaces (website, newsletter, social media accounts)
•Develop an annual supportive ministries budget and work within that budget
•Attend staff meetings and retreats as required.
•Support the Office of the Senior Pastor as requested.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accompanist
The Accompanist reports directly to the Worship Pastor and through the Worship Associate to the Worship Pastor.
The person in this position will serve as the rehearsal and worship service accompanist for: adult choir, worship team, various ensembles, soloists and congregational music. The candidate will alternate between playing on the grand piano and the electric stage piano. The accompanist will be expected to attend Wednesday night rehearsals in preparation for Sunday morning worship.
Additional congregational needs may arise, such as funerals, weddings, etc. and the accompanist is encouraged to fill that role as scheduling allows.
The accompanist will be paid per Sunday, with absences considered unpaid time off. Additional compensation will be given for participation in special events such as Christmas Eve service, our annual Christmas cantata, Maundy Thursday service and noon-day Holy week services.
